Call for Council Nominations for Municipal By-Election
Notice of Nomination Proceedings
PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS
Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipality of North Shore that a Municipal By-Election will be held on June 3, 2024 to elect a councilor for Ward 1 within the Rural Municipality of North Shore for the term of office until the next municipal election, currently scheduled for November 2026.
The nomination period for the Council position listed commences on Wednesday May 8, 2024 and closes at 4:00 pm on Nomination Day on Friday May 17, 2024.
Nominations shall only be received during office hours at the election office, located at 2120 Rte 25, Covehead Road, West Covehead, PE.
The election office hours shall be 9:00am- 4:00 pm on the following dates:
Tuesday May 7, 2024 Wednesday May 8, 2024
Tuesday May 14, 2024 Wednesday May 15, 2024
Tuesday May 21, 2024 Wednesday May 22, 2024
Tuesday May 28, 2024 Wednesday May 29, 2024
The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

The regular monthly meeting of the Rural Municipality of North Shore Council is held the second Wednesday of the month.
In the event of a storm on meeting night, it will be rescheduled to the following evening.
Unless otherwise indicated, all meetings are at North Shore Community Centre.

Presentation and Delegations to Council
The following will be permitted at meetings of Council at the time so designated on the agenda:
- presentations to recognize an individual or group on behalf of Council or for a group or individual to present to Council some award or similar honour;
- delegations wishing to speak before Council; and
- presentations of petitions
The time allotted by Council for each person making presentations or giving recognitions will be 15 minutes.
Delegations wishing to speak before Council will advise the CAO or his/her designate of their intention to do so by noon on the Wednesday prior to the meeting, and all information to be addressed will be on the form “Request for Decision” (Schedule A) found below.
